Gymnastics
First Coast Gymnastics
offers the Jacksonville area some of the finest coaching talent available
anywhere in the country. With the skills and background to train gymnasts to
the Elite level in both male and female competitive gymnastics, the needs of
gymnasts from beginners to Elite levels. Our coaches are members of the
United States of America Gymnastics Federation. Coaches at First Coast
Gymnastics have received their National Safety Certificates through USA
Gymnastics Federation.

Andrey
Shishkin - Head Coach/Co-Owner
Andrey was graduated from the Moscow Regional Academia College of Physical
Culture with the Highest Degree in Sports Education. Andrey coached the
former Soviet Union’s Jr. National Team from 1983 to 1987, specializing in
acrobatics and trampoline. He coached several world-famous Soviet gymnasts,
including Svetlana Boginskay, Olesya Dudnick, Natalia Laschenova, Yelena
Schechenko, Tatiana Lusenko, Tatiana Gytsu, Rozalia Galieva, and others.
In 1988, Andrey became Head Coach of the Children’s Division of the Soviet
Union National Team until he came to the United States in 1991 to Coach
girls gymnastics in Charlotte, North Carolina. Andrey relocated to
Jacksonville in 1994 to become a coach at First Coast Gymnastics.

Elena
Shishkin - Head Coach/Co-Owner
A Russian National Champion, Elena competed for 12 years. She has now been
coaching for over 20 years, including working as an elite coach in Moscow. A
graduate of the National Central Academia College of Physical Culture in
Moscow, from which she earned the Highest Degree in Sports Education, she is
certified as a Teacher and Coach.
As a gymnast, Elena competed in gymnastics for 12 years. She competed in
National and International competitions for 7 years as an Elite Gymnast.
Elena competed on her college team which won the National Championship which
is held every four years. As a gymnastics coach, her primary areas of
expertise are the floor exercise, beam, dance and choreography. Elena
also served as a gymnastics judge for 9 years in Russia.

2005 Florida State Vault Champion (Level 8)
Steve Tull has been training in gymnastics since the age of 3!
A regular competitor at both Florida and Region 8 events, Steve
recently added a USAG Professional Member certification to his list
of credentials, and has begun coaching Level 4 boys at the gym.
Steve encourages his young students to train with determination.
He tells them, "Try Harder! If you don't succeed, just keep going
until you do. If you don't stop - you WILL make it!"

Ethan has been a USAG competitive gymnast for four years, and has
been selected for the Florida State Gymnastics Team for the last
three
years; an honor reserved for the top six gymnasts in the state at
each regionally-competing level. Along with his personal regimen of
gymnastics training, he enjoys coaching the Pre-Team Class at First
Coast. Ethan says, "The kids can really progress quickly at this
level, and it is a real pleasure to be a part of their training."

Coach Chris has a long,
personal history with gymnastics, as well as having children in the
gym at First Coast. The boys call him "Dr. Pain"
